
Mobile measurementThe NAVIGATOR DVB-T/H/SH has been designed to perform mobile measurement campaigns for DVB-T, DVB-H and DVB-SH networks. This portable equipment can be used either moving in a vehicle at normal speed or by a pedestrian (indoor or outdoor).The campaign can be dedicated to a single channel (frequency) or for multiple channels at the same time. Once the campaign is finished, all measurements can be retrieved and analyzed thanks to the DVB Reader software. MeteringThe NAVIGATOR DVB-T/H/SH includes a high quality demodulator for accurate DVB-SH metering.Through the PC software, many DVB-SH RF parameters can be measured including the input level, the error rates and the MER. In addition, the unit displays the realtime constellation diagram, spectrum analysis and channel impulse response. All the measurements necessary for the commissioning and adjustment of a new transmitter. MPEG data is also decoded and thoroughly analyzed via the PC software in real time. Transport stream compliance can be confirmed easily, using the real time error display. Specific DVB-SH parameters are also part of the analysis, such as SHIP, HDD and MPE IFEC. In depth analysis of the tables can also be performed using the powerful Expert Mode, based on recorded transport stream data. NAVIGATOR DVB-T/H/SH is also a powerful metering unit for DVB-SH. All the important parameters are measured and displayed in user friendly PC software with very high level of accuracy. Thanks to the constellation and spectrum display, NAVIGATOR DVB-T/H/SH can be used for laboratory, terrestrial repeater prototype integration and production line testing. Band scaningThe NAVIGATOR DVB-T/H/SH can perform a scan on the frequency band to automatically detect the available multiplex channels. On each multiplex, a specific Audio and Video PID (Packet Identity) can be selected to view the content. Mobile testing device
This feature allows Mobile TV operators to test and validate the capabilities of new phones. Engineers can connect via USB to the cell phones they want to test and perform a mobile campaign. The NAVIGATOR DVB evaluates the performance of the RF part of the device and is able to compare it with the calibrated receiver of the measurement equipment. Reference designThis feature (In development) allows testing and validation of new devices using DVB-H chip sets. By connecting through the USB port on the front panel, and using a reference design provided by chip set manufacturers, the R&D team can perform real world measurements and make sure their product is in compliance with the performance goals.
