Perform field surveys… as easily as driving a car (FM-MC4 only)


Installed in a car, the portable FM-MC4 enables «running» measurement campaigns. With the embedded GPS receiver, each value is automatically time stamped and indexed to a geographical location.
When the desired area has been covered, the entire survey can be loaded easily into any spreadsheet or database program, or imported into cartographic software for further analysis.

Portable audio and modulation analyzer (FM-MC4 + DFMA02)


The accuracy of the FM-MC4 hardware, its L, R, modulation (MPX) and RF inputs make it possible to conduct measurement in the studio, on the transmitter site and on a reception antenna.
The modulation representation provides a tool that can be used to easily control your signal.

  • Check the signal all along the transmission chain using the available inputs: L&R balanced and unbalanced inputs, modulation (MPX) input, RF input,  and a 10.7 MHz input (optional).
  • Measure modulation (MPX) level, audio level, pilot and SCA level (RDS, DARC) and MPX power to be compliant with official recommendations
  • Various representations are available to fit your needs: bargraph, peak/time, density, envelope, multiple reception.
  • Measurement logs enable tracking and reports can be automatically generated after measurements are made.

Sequencer

  • Used with the Audio and Modulation module software, the sequencer enables the measurement session to be launched automatically at a scheduled time. This means technical support is no longer necessary for night or weekend sessions.
  • Automatic reports can still be created and printed.

Quickly and easily identify locally transmitted programs and their main features with the recording of levels and RDS parameters.

RDS analyzer


  • Perform a detailed analysis of the sub-carriers with complete RDS data decoding, Bit error Rate processing, TMC analysis and RT+ analysis.
  • Monitor static and dynamic RDS data.
  • Filter data by groups or block.
  • RDS sequences can be recorded and replayed.
  • Results are presented in various formats depending on the intended analysis: general information (PI, PS, PTY, DI, AF, Radio Text, …), decoded information (AF lists, EON AF), raw information (Hexadecimal, ASCII), statistical data (Group sequencing and percentage), dedicated applications (ODA, Radio Paging, TMC, RT+, …), and error rates.

A note about RT+

:
The purpose of RT+ is to enable suitably equipped receivers to display information such as album and track details for songs, news headlines, information about the radio station, etc. RT+ also allows the receiver to store other information such as web links, phone numbers etc for easy access by the user.
Considering the importance of the interaction made possible by this technology, making sure it works properly becomes a requirement that the FM-MC4 is able to meet!
